Dale City Elementary, opened in 1967, was the first school to open in Dale City. A four room addition to the school was completed in the spring of 2001. In 2002, the school's library was dedicated to the late Karen Lipinski, a long-time teacher at the school. Major renovations were completed in the summer of 2006 to update the physical structure and appearance of the office, library, computer lab, cafeteria, kitchen, hallways, bathrooms, and classrooms.

Dale City Elementary School serves students from the Ashdale and Birchdale communities.
