ABOUT DALE CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Dale City Elementary, opened in 1967, was the first school to open in Dale City. A four room addition to the school was completed in the spring of 2001. Major renovations were completed in the summer of 2006 to update the physical structure and appearance of the office, library, computer lab, cafeteria, kitchen, hallways, bathrooms, and classrooms.
Dale City Elementary School serves students from the Ashdale and Birchdale communities.
The Dale City Elementary staff includes many resource teachers, including ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages),Learning Disabilities, and Title I Reading and Math. Instruction is differentiated in an inclusive setting where students are taught to reflect upon their individual learning goals and progress. The school also houses a center-based program for students who have severe disabilities.
Identified Dale City students participate in the START and SIGNET gifted education programs.
