How can a student see the school counselor?
Students may request to speak to a school counselor via the DCES counselor request online form (located on the CANVAS Counseling Page) or by leaving a talking slip in the counselor's mailbox. A parent/guardian, teacher, or administrator may also refer students for support.

DCES Counseling Program Vision Statement:
Students of the Dale City Elementary School comprehensive school counseling program possess the knowledge and skills to be lifelong learners and world-class citizens. They are compassionate and empathic individuals who encourage others in their communities. Our students have the resiliency and perseverance to be successful in their future roles, as world-class citizens.
DCES Counseling Program Mission Statement:
The mission of the Dale City Elementary School Counseling Department is to help students develop social/emotional growth, academic achievement, and career readiness. The school counselors will address the needs of all students through prevention and intervention programs that are part of a comprehensive and data-driven school counseling program. In partnership with educators, parents/guardians, and community members, the school counselors will ensure that all Dale City Elementary students have access to and are prepared with life skills to contribute at their maximum potential as world-class citizens.
